![]() What does it mean to be a refugee? Torn From Home: My Life as a Refugee helps children answer this question by letting them experience what life in a refugee camp is like, through the eyes of refugee children. From the experience of leaving home, to living in a camp, children are asked to consider how they would feel about having to leave everything they know behind when they are forced to flee their home. This thought provoking exhibit offers an inspiring learning experience on human rights and gives children the opportunity to develop and express feelings of empathy for others and, at the same time, a greater understanding and appreciation for others who are different than they are. Join us in this journey to gain insight into the challenges and triumphs experienced by millions of refugee children and their families worldwide. This exhibition was created by Lied Discovery Children's Museum and sponsored by Pam and Pierre Omidyar. It travels thanks to a grant from Unbound Philanthropy. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Theme of the Children's Discovery Center is YOU!!!
