Hello from Japan Exhibit

Children will have fun learning about life in present-day Japan in this playful, highly immersive exhibit. Funding for Hello from Japan! provided by the Freeman Foundation and administered by the Association of Children's Museums. Local presenting sponsor is Matson. During our grand opening enjoy taiko by Nakama, learn Ikebana, meet the Cherry Blossom Queen and Court and participate in Japanese crafts.

Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day with special activities to teach children about caring for our planet.

April 30
Come and learn the traditional way of making mochi! Sponsored by the Aiea Hongwanji Mission, children will learn how to pound and mold mochi. This event is free with admission to the Center.

Kids in the Kitchen Explores Japan
April 23
Themed to our traveling exhibit Hello From Japan, Kids in the Kitchen will explore Japanese cuisine through cooking and hands on activities. This month we will be making Okonomiyaki. Children must be 7 year's old to participate.

Children's Day
May 7
Celebrate Children's Day in Japan with special activities to teach children about Japanese culture. This will be the last day to see our Hello from Japan exhibit before it closes.
